THE FOUNDER

Ivan Urcia was born and raised in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area commonly referred to as the “DMV.” While obtaining a degree in Business Management at Prince George’s Community College, professional experience was gained throughout his career solely from the Food & Beverage sector in the Hospitality Industry. Over the past 10 years, Ivan has worked with multiple concepts. In 2016, Ivan joined the opening team for Bonchon in Waldorf, Maryland and assisted with the opening of Kaliwa at The Wharf in Washington, D.C. in 2018. Ivan is most recognized for his success as a Manager with Rosa Mexicano at National Harbor in Maryland.

In his personal life, Ivan is a dedicated husband and loving father of two. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting restaurants, playing basketball, and is always looking for new ways to elevate himself and his loved ones. Possessing a passion to please paired with a natural customer service mentality, Ivan strongly believed he would make his mark in the industry someday. District Boba is the product of his determination and drive.
